2019 LPGA COMMISSIONER LETTER

On behalf of the LPGA Tour, WELCOME to the 2019 LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship.

For nearly 70 years, the LPGA has been a leader in providing opportunities for girls and women around the globe to achieve their dreams – on and off the golf course. In 2019, the LPGA Tour will visit 12 countries, television coverage will span 165 countries and between the LPGA and Symetra Tours, this season will showcase players from more than 50 countries.

But our players are so much more than just world-class athletes. They are businesswomen, mothers, community leaders, philanthropists, and game-changers. They are driven to not only make a difference in the golf course but also set an example for millions of young girls who are inspired by them. In a nutshell, they are following the examples set by our 13 incredible LPGA Founders.

Their hard work is paying rich dividends. The winner of the season-long Race to the CME Globe will earn $1.5 million, the largest single prize ever in women’s golf, while the Aon Risk Reward Challenge will award the season’s most strategic player with $1 million, a prize matched to their male counterparts. The LPGA Tour is setting records in purses, television coverage and corporate support. In fact, more companies have joined the LPGA in the last few years than in any other similar time in LPGA history!

In short – what a time to be a part of the LPGA Tour. The future is bright, and we look forward to an exciting 2019 season.
